Microsoft Media Foundation (MF) was introduced as the successor of DirectShow in Windows Vista. I have mostly ignored it, but it has some features (such as decoding of WMV AC-1 files) which are hard to implement in DirectShow. Media Foundation is also a more modern API so it would seem logical to make the switch. If Media Foundation was removed from the image, likely you don't want to use Multimedia in the virtual desktop. We are using Windows Pro N (without Media player) and get the same message. I assume that the installer leaves out those feature simply because they are not needed. Windows 10 N editions include the same functionality as Windows 10, except that these versions of Windows do not include Windows Media Player, and related technologies.
